Growing up in the Markham-Stouffville area, Phil went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2012. His clinical internship was completed with a distinction for exemplary performance in outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Sue has provided treatment in a wide variety of settings including hospitals and outpatient clinics. Sue has added to her portfolio of services by now offering the GLA:D program. GLA:D provides treatment for patients with osteoarthritis as well as preparing people who are to undergo joint replacement surgery.

New to the Markham-Stouffville area, Mara graduated from the University of Toronto in 2016 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Since graduating, she has worked in outpatient orthopaedic settings and has a passion for working in this environment.

Colleen graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario in 1991 and has extensive clinical experience including charitable work in Africa doing community-based rehabilitation. Colleen's focus is a holistic approach to neurological rehabilitation of adults and children with complex neurological and traumatic injuries and conditions.

Sheila has been providing massage therapy to relieve pain and improve a sense of well-being for clients of all ages since 1994. During her many years as a massage therapist, she has become a clinical instructor, support therapist at a pain clinic, and an equine massage therapist.

Jill graduated with honours from the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) program at Durham College. She has clinical experience working with the pediatric and neurological pulation, as well as a variety of orthopaedic clients.

Adele began her career working as a Legal Assistant in law firms in Toronto, later moving to Stouffville. Her active lifestyle and interest in physical injuries has led her to pursue working in the healthcare setting.

Growing up in the Markham-Stouffville area, Phil went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2012. His clinical internship was completed with a distinction for exemplary performance in outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy. His proven skills in manual therapy and exercise prescription allow him to design and deliver effective treatment plans. Phil’s strong academic and clinical background, along with his continuing education courses within the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (Level 3), medical acupuncture, concussion rehab, and athletic taping, lead to positive outcomes in helping his patients reach a full functional recovery. Sue Gerrard

Since graduating from the University of Toronto, Sue has provided treatment in a wide variety of settings including hospitals and outpatient clinics. She has vast experience in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions and has a special interest in total joint replacement rehabilitation. Under the new management of Stouffville Joint Venture Physiotherapy, Sue continues to provide the same compassionate service as always. Notably, Sue has added to her portfolio of services by now offering the GLA:D program. GLA:D provides treatment for patients with osteoarthritis as well as preparing people who are to undergo joint replacement surgery. In her spare time, Sue enjoys meeting people, gardening and spending time with her family.

Mara Iacoe

New to the Markham-Stouffville area, Mara graduated from the University of Toronto in 2016 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Since graduating, she has worked in outpatient orthopaedic settings and has a passion for working in this environment. Mara utilizes thorough assessment and treatment methods with consideration of patient goals and creating a strong sense of rapport with patients. Her continued education in the field has included training in the GLA:D Canada Program and she strongly believes in life-long learning to continue to build upon her orthopaedic skill set.

Colleen Hunt

Colleen graduated from Physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario in 1991 and has extensive clinical experience including charitable work in Africa doing community-based rehabilitation. Colleen's focus is a holistic approach to neurological rehabilitation of adults and children with complex neurological and traumatic injuries and conditions. She is trained in a variety of specialized courses including Neurodevelopmental Treatment / Bobath, Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization. Colleen's outside interests include travel, camping, hiking and biking with her family.

Most recently, Sheila's continuing education activities have included learning more about brain injury, palliative care, mental health and addiction recovery. Sheila specializes in treating sports injuries, surgical rehabilitation, and stress related disorders. Jill Insley

Jill graduated with honours from the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA/PTA) program at Durham College. She has clinical experience working with the pediatric and neurological pulation, as well as a variety of orthopaedic clients.  Being part of a diverse interdisciplinary team has helped shape Jill into a better clinician, as she loves to learn from other’s experience and gain insight as to how she can best help patients during their rehab. She is very excited to continue her path as a PTA, and she is looking forward to continuing to contribute to and advocate for the OTA/PTA profession in the future.

After 7 years assisting motor vehicle and WSIB patients she continues to further assist patients in their recovery. In her free time, Adele enjoys time outdoors, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Carmela Runco

Holding a CSEP-CPT and Bachelors of Health Science Honours in Kinesiology with Exercise Science specialization, Carmela has over 10 years of experience in coaching, sports therapy, and physical rehabilitation therapy. Carmela has had the opportunity to collaborate with various healthcare professional as a competitive athlete and coach, an athletic trainer for varsity hockey team, and as a physical therapist assistant. Carmela has had the opportunity to work with a variety of different populations such as competitive athletes, post-surgical outpatients, those seeking neurological and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, and the general population, all of which have helped her further develop her skills and knowledge of physical therapy. Carmela is passionate about physical therapy and rehabilitation, and will be challenging her Registered Kinesiologists licence in 2020.
